Comment

This is a copy after a lost drawing by Towne (FT904). It looks like it was copied from a studio work, as the detailing in the figures, and on the tower behind them, is more deliberate and detailed than in Towne’s sketches. The way the tree trunks are clustered is reminiscent of the Villa Barberini (FT223).
