This drawing was reproduced by Stanley Fisher as by Francis Towne, although it must be the work of a pupil. Probably it is based on one of Towne’s own compositions. The castle on the hill is a structure much like the one in FT885 and the composition as a whole is of the same general type as a landscape copied by another pupil (FT900).
