Towne contributed seven lots to Christie’s to be auctioned on 25 March 1808 “for the charity benefit of an artist”, possibly Robert Freebairn. Tivoli was lot 89, with a reserve of £2 20s. It was presumably a version of a drawing Towne had made in 1781.
