Comment

This is a copy of Towne’s 1775 picture of Ugbrooke (FT056), used on the title page of Reeve’s poem. A second edition of the poem was produced in 1793 after the death of 5th Baron Clifford, but Towne’s drawing was not the direct source of the small vignette produced then.
