This was exhibit 166 in the 1767 Society of Artists of Great Britain exhibition, but due to a printing error the exhibit number given in the catalogue was 165. It provides confirmation that Towne had moved to Devon by this point (see also FT007). The exhibition catalogue gave Towne’s address as “at Mr.Koon’s, James-street, near Brook-street, Grosvenor-square”.
